The Monument was originally situated on the north side of the Church on the banking above Pinner Brook. In March 2009 it was found that the Monument was in danger of collapse due to errosion of the brook banking. Because of the prohibitive cost of restoring the site it was decided to move the Monument to a plot of land opposite the Church, on the junction Burnley Road and Crawshaw Grange and it was moved to the new site in February 2010.
This Memorial was granted Grade II Listed status by Historic England on the 25th January 2018
