This church, which is over four miles from the town centre, is also one of the smallest churches in the town and as probably never had more than one hundred members. The beginnings of the church go back to when the Methodists of Lumb used to meet in the Liberal Club which is not far from the site of the church. The foundation stones were laid on Whit Saturday 1874 and the first service was held on 27th June 1875.The Sunday school extension was added in 1911.
The church is now closed and was demolished in 2004
