Sunnyside Baptist Chapel
Burnley Road, Reedsholme

This Chapel was founded in 1847 when a group of worshipers, including the minister the Rev Abraham Nichols, split away from Goodshaw Baptist and formed a church using the old Roman Catholic Mission building at the bottom of Pinner Lane in Crawshawbooth. They later moved to a new chapel they built at Burnley Road, Reedsholme. This chapel closed in the early 1970's and was demolished in 1973. All the houses surrounding the chapel were cleared away and the graveyard was made into memorial garden with all the head stones being placed along the back perimeter wall and is now surrounded on three sides by Reedsholme Works and it's car parks. It's was a small graveyard and there are only 38 monuments. The marriage registers 1910 - 1973 are at Lancashire Public Records Office. The whereabouts of any other records is not known.
