Computer Group

Members are reminded that the Society has a Computer Group based at Chorley. Meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month. It is a small self help group of mixed abilities. A charge of 50p a month is made, this is used to build up a collection of CD roms for members to use. Meetings are held at Ron Chapman's house, 33 The Meadows, Heskin.

On a recent visit to Rawtenstall Library to check the 1851 census. I was amused at the insalubrious place names in this Township:

Sod Heights, Pis Gate, Slack Bottom, Pinch Clough are just a few examples.
