OF HIS FLOCK, MANLY AND OUTSPOKEN IN REBUCKING THEIR FAULTS,
YET MOST TENDER IN HIS SYMPATHY WITH THEIR TRIALS AND SORROWS,
GENEROUS TO THE POOR, UNSPARING AND SELFDENYING IN HIS LABOURS
FOR THE WELFARE OF ALL. THE 18 YEARS WHICH HE SPENT IN
THIS PARISH WERE A PRACTICAL SERMON ON THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
